Trachael System

A type of respiratory system where tubers extend throughout the body and gas exchange occurs directly with cells. Tracheae are the largest tubes that start at the spiracles. They are reinforced with chitin. Spiracles - openings into the trachael system where air goes in and out tracheoles - smaller tubes that are off the trachaea. They branch off smaller and smaller and end at a plasma membrane of a cell. Here, blue fluid at the end of these vessles exchange gases with cells. air sacs - surround the organs; enlarged trachaea for better gas exchange Large insects need to manually force air through the tubules.
