The Blue Room

The Blue Room is a play by David Hare, adapted from La Ronde by Arthur Schnitzler. The characters' occupations are changed and the dialogue is significantly modernised from the original play. Two actors (male and female) play the entire piece, acting five different characters who are all partnered at some point. Nicole Kidman famously played the female role in London (dir. Sam Mendes) and the phrase 'theatrical Viagra' was coined. Sigrid Thornton played the same role in an Australian production. Blue Room, The
