theologian
. He was born in
Sorbon
, in the
Ardennes
dpartement
. He became chaplain and confessor to King
Louis IX of France
and founded the
Collge de Sorbonne
in
Paris
for the use of 20 theology students in
1257
. The
Collge
later became the
Sorbonne
