RankGenerally, rank is a system of hierarchy used to classify like things. Top Ten lists are a common way to list prioritized ranks (usually as a subset of a larger pool of possibilities). Different types of ranks include: In a pipe organ, a rank of pipes is a set tuned to a chromatic scale, and used together to play that scale. A stop may consist of one or more ranks.
