Kill Rock Stars

Kill Rock Stars is a recording label founded in 1991 by Slim Moon and based in Olympia, Washington. Moon initially started the label with the intention of releasing spoken word 7" single records. But KRS's roster rapidly expanded to music by local artists such as Unwound, Witchypoo, and influential riot grrrls Bikini Kill and Bratmobile as well as foreign bands like England's Huggy Bear. Later artists have included Sleater-Kinney, Lois Maffeo, Mary Lou Lord, Elliott Smith and Mukilteo Fairies. See also: List of record labels, List of independent record labels
