Grand Lahou
Grand Lahou
is a town in
Cte d'Ivoire
where the
Bandama River
meets the
Gulf of Guinea
. It was occupied by the
British
,
Germans
and
Dutch
before the
French
developed it as a
trading port
from
1890
. The original settlement on a
sand bar
is now almost abandoned, with the present town lies almost 20km to the north. It is a popular base for visitors to the
Assagny National Park
.
