Clavier Lumires

The clavier a lumieres was a musical instrument invented by Scriabin for use in his work . However, it was never built in his lifetime. The instrument was supposed to be a keyboard, with notes corresponding to colors as given by Scriabin's synesthetic system. Scriabin assigned the following colors to the following notes:
Color
red
# violet or purple
yellow
# gray
sky blue
deep red
# bright blue
orange
# lilac
green
# gray
light blue
However, when the notes are ordered by the circle of fifths, the colors are in order of a spectrum, indicating that he did not experience the physiological condition of synaesthesia, and that it was a thought out system that was influenced by his theosophic readings and based on Sir Isaac Newton's Optics:
Note

range G
ellow D

ight blue B

iolet or purple C#
ilac G#

eep red F
