Brickerville is a census-designated place located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,287.

Geography

Brickerville is located at 40°13'19" North, 76°16'55" West (40.221910, -76.281877). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.7 km² (2.2 mi²). 5.7 km² (2.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 1,287 people, 433 households, and 374 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 223.8/km² (580.0/mi²). There are 438 housing units at an average density of 76.2/km² (197.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 99.07% White, 0.16% Black or African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.16% from other races, and 0.23% from two or more races. 1.79% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 433 households out of which 38.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 80.4% are married couples living together, 4.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 13.4% are non-families. 10.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.97 and the average family size is 3.19. In the CDP the population is spread out with 27.8% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 25.3% from 45 to 64, and 8.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 107.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.2 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $51,000, and the median income for a family is $54,167. Males have a median income of $40,583 versus $28,533 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $19,052. 8.1% of the population and 5.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 14.0% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
