Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto is a town of about 50,000 inhabitants in the north coast of Sicily, Italy, 50 km from Messina towards Palermo. Barcellona was founded in the 1600s during the Spanish dominance of the island, and was united in 1835 with Pozzo di Gotto. It is mostly famous as the place of birth of Emilio Fede, popular TV anchorman. In the nearby zones there is e.g. Castroreale which is a small village from the 1200s and has a castle of Federico II.
