as budget subsidiary label. Its records were distributed since 1962 by
Vee-Jay Records
. Ace Records stopped when Vee-Jay went broke. The label was relaunched in 1971 and sold in 1997 to
Music Collection International
. The second
Ace Records
was a subsidiary of
Chiswick Records
. When Chiswick stopped in 1984, Ace continued repressing the better records of Chiswick. Over the years Ace acquired the rights of
Fantasy Records
