Segregation

• Human rights: Racial segregation is the separation of humans according to race. Sex segregation is the separation of humans according to gender.
• Biology: The separation of homologous chromosomes during mitosis and meiosis. Known as Mendel's theory of Segregation. See at Mendelian_inheritance#Mendel.27s_law_of_segregation.
• Geography: The separation of groups from a large population, especially into different areas.
• Traffic: The separation of high-traffic routes from areas where pedestrians have priority.
