EmpriesEmpries is a town in the Mediterranean coast of the Catalan comarca of Empord. It was founded by the ancient Greeks with the name of Ἐμπόριον ( Emporion — "market"). It was also the capital of the historical Catalan county of Empries, whose territory was roughly the current comarques of Alt Empord and Baix Empord.
