Christine Boutin

Christine Boutin (born in Levroux, Indre, France on February 6, 1944) is a French politician. As of 2004, she is a deputy to the French National Assembly for the Yvelines dpartement. She became famous in 1998 for opposing the PACS domestic parternship plan, arguing that the government should not encourage homosexuality and was criticized for homophobia. She was a candidate in the 2002 French presidential election where she scored 1.19% on the first round of balloting.
