Balad

Balad is a city 50 miles north of Baghdad in Iraq.
Balad, Hebrew acronym for Brit Leumit Demokratit (National Democratic League), Arabic Al-Tajamu' Al-Watani Al-Demokrati is a also a political party in Israel, currently led by Doctor Azmi Bishara. The party is known for its strong anti-Israeli positions and its support of Hizbullah and the Assad regime in Syria.
